Sterling Silver Cubic Zirconia Ring 144453
Sterling Silver collection
Real silver, or silver with close to 99.9% purity, is just too soft for use as jewelry.
To make it stronger and more durable, silver is mixed with copper to strengthen the precious metal.
This silver alloy is called sterling silver and is generally about 92.5% pure
To easily tell if a piece of jewelry is sterling silver, it'll be stamped with "925," a reference to the silver's purity rating.
We plated most of our sterling silver jewellery with rhodium,14k gold and 14k rose gold .
Rhodium is a silver-white metallic element that is part of the platinum family of metals.
It is highly reflective and resistant to tarnish.
It is considered the rarest and most valuable precious metal in the world — ranking much higher than both gold and silver.
Will Sterling silver Tarnish?
When metals are exposed to the air, they experience a chemical process called oxidation.
It makes the silver become darken, fortunately sterling silver can be easily clean with a silver cleaning solution and it will brighten up again.
However, if the sterling silver item is plated with 14k gold or 14k rose gold on top, when the gold plating come off due to wear and tear, you cannot clean it to restore the gold or rose gold. It will require a replating service with a fee to replate the 14k gold or 14k rose gold on top.
